162 COVID-19 cases, 45 recoveries reported

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 162 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with 45 recoveries. The 162 cases reported is the third most in one day. The most reported on one day was 179 July 30 and the second most was 166 on Sept. 16.
- Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 9,172 (+162 from 9/24)
- Deaths: 155 (+0)
- Recovered: 7,739 (+45)
- Active cases: 1,278 (+117)
- Currently hospitalized: 70 (-4)
- Cases who have discharged from hospital: 649 (+5)
COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County
- Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of September 25: 137,369 (+1,700 since 9/24)
Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.
Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of September 25:
- 65 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (-1% since 9/24)
- 45 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-4%)
- 17 percent of all ventilators are in use (-3%)
NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
School-aged children breakdown added to COVID-19 Dashboard
The Washoe County COVID-19 Dashboard now includes a tab that shows a breakdown of COVID-19 cases for the 0-4, 5-10 and 11-18. Previously, the age breakdown was only from 0-9 and 10-19, which is still there under the “Total Cases” and “Active Cases” tabs but now is broken down further under the “School Age” tab.
