306 new COVID-19 cases, 1 COVID-19-related death reported

Nov. 6, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting one COVID-19-related death and 306 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County.

The deceased is a male in his 60s with underlying health conditions.

There have been three straight days of 300+ cases reported with 306 new COVID-19 cases reported today. There were 93 recoveries.

The number of Washoe County residents who are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 rose by 45, making the total 125. The increase is related to a surge in reporting from local hospitals that had been delayed. The number of cases who have discharged from the hospital also increased significantly because of the that reporting delay.

As a note, the “currently hospitalized” number is only Washoe County residents, as is all of the data on the Washoe County COVID-19 Dashboard. The Hospital Bed and Ventilator numbers from the Nevada Hospital Association (below) can include non-Washoe County residents.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 15,125 (+306 from 11/5)
  • Deaths: 205 (+1)
  • Recovered: 11,862 (+93)
  • Active cases: 3,058 (+212)
  • Currently hospitalized: 125 (+45)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 980 (+57)

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of November 6: 189,285 (+1,995 since 11/5)

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of November 6:

  • 83 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (-3% since 11/5)
  • 69 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (-2%)
  • 61 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+6%)
  • 22 percent of all ventilators are in use (+2%)
