Did you get a letter from the Health District?

The Washoe County Health District mailed out more than 2,000 letters to a random set of Washoe County residents offering the chance to get a free COVID-19 antibody test and be entered into a drawing to receive a $50 Visa gift card. A COVID-19 antibody test can determine if you have been exposed or infected with COVID-19 in the past, whether you knew it or not.

The antibody tests are only for those random residents who received a letter (residents cannot opt in) and is part of Phase 2 of the antibody project in conjunction with the University of Nevada, Reno – School of Community Health Sciences and the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory.

Participation of the project is extremely important as it paints a clearer picture of how prevalent COVID-19 is in Washoe County.
